my random thoughts

So was gay pride weekend. Quite dead at work. However we were selling a lot of pre-paid phone SIM cards to a lot of foreign visiters. I decided to go with my co-workers to check out the activities after work. It was interesting, to say the least. No-holds-barred sexual liberation lol. At the parade there were a LOT of chinese families/couples out. I don't understand why. What? too cheap to buy a box condoms at Shoppers, so you're just gonna get 'em for free at the parade? lol. I also don't know they would fight with you to get those Cruiseline cards which turn out to be coupons for 30 mins of free "chats". ha! It seems that the crowd gets bigger and bigger each year, which is definitely a good sign. It's nice to see how residents in the city are becoming more accepting of one's sexuality etc. But at the same time you also see more corporate sponsorship at these events too, and you begin to ask yourself, has the message been lost amongst this chaotic crowd of partiers? Are they here to party or to come celebrate diversity, or both? I can't really say. People obviously were there to make money, and i'm sure they did. At $7 for a falaffel, they better be. Overall I enjoyed it, especially because I caught David Morales spinning a set on Friday night so that was cool.

Next Weekend, Montreal Here I come!
