Friday, February 25, 2005 Got a cold during reading week. Sucked ass. Stuffy nose, sore throat, congestion...You name it I got it. I should've bought a bottle of that sniffing-sneezing-so-that-I-can-Feel-better-medicine instead of generic Life brand cold meds. I'm much better now, which is great. But I could've been better if I wasn't so sick during midterms on Monday and Tuesday! GRRR. 3-phase power my ass. I'm a bit tipsy right now. WOrked at the bar tonight after classes and had a few drinks with the servers afterwards. I was making random drinks and these chicks totally dig them. I should make a book of random chick drinks just like that guy on foodnetwork, Michael Smith, in that Chef at Home show. He writes down random food recipes though. Nowhere as cool as me. posted by Ben | | | 8:27 PM The Conclusion of my Montreal Trip: That night at around 11:30, I wento to another hotel room to chill with some other people. They were enjoying whaver local TV had to offer...and what they offered was Softcore porn and documentaries about porn. I thought it was just hilarious that French TV is so liberal. LOL Stayed there till around 1am and I went down to an afterhours club (no liquor) on the last subway with my cousin. Aria was the name. It was good, although i don't remember much of what hapened. There was so many people smoking weed there I got stoned from the second hand smoke. Gatorade was $5 though! I remembered that! Anyways it was loud, bangin' and loud. Met some locals while I was there and hung out with them for a while. Apparently one of that is an actor on this YTV show..whose name I don't remember. It's got somethign to do with Tennis. Uh ya that's it. Caught the first train back to the hotel at around 7am....and slept for a bit...Then slept some more on the bus back. It was a good idea to have bought the bagels the night before. Otherwise I wouldn't have had anything to eat until we got to Kingston. posted by Ben | | | 8:21 PM Tuesday, February 22, 2005 I think this describes me quite well. posted by Ben | | | 9:41 PM Wednesday, February 16, 2005 I am still recovering from the weekend over in Montreal. My gawd was it fun, even in the middle of winter. The bus ride there was a bit dissapointing. The bus driver decided to take the DVP in the middle of rush hour on a FRIDAY! Needless to say, it took about 9 hours to get to the hotel (which was right at the corner of Peel and SHerbrooke). THe room was huge and 5 of us stayed in the room. It could've accomodated more people easily. Anyway my cousin (who also came) and I imeediately went out to chinatown for some food. We were lucky that the train was still running at the time (it was near 1am). There were still quite a bit of people out...must be partying or something. The next day we had our concert at this hall in the English speaking part of town (in Westmount). VIctoria Hall i think the place was called. THe acoustics could've been MUCH better. BUt who cares, I was there for the sake of being in Montreal. Nothing else. lol. After the concert we were free to do whatever we wanted (this was Saturday) until the next morning when the bus was scheduled to leave. Crappy part was that we didn't finish till 5, which meant nearly all the stores have either closed or were about to close. Sucks. A few of us took the bus up to the famous Schwartz Deli for some smoked meat sandwiches. I remembered from way back (when I stayed in MTL for this government funded french program) that the deli was on St. Laurent somewhere. Anyway we missed our stop and had to walk a block back. It was all woth it. THe food was great. The place was so packed, we had to wait like 10 minutes outside for a table. COincidentally there was a film crew doing a documentary of the place. BUt I don't think i'll be seeing it since it'll be on local FRENCH tv (exclusively, i think). once inside and seated the guy took our orders. I got the standard smoked meat sandwich with fries and a pickel with a glass of coke. Later another random couple sat at our table...and we started talking to them. Apparently we weren't supposed to have our meat with just regular coke. you need to have it with CHERRY COKE. I didn't much like the taste though. It reminded me too much of children's cough syrup -- sickly sweet and extremely bad after taste. We asked them where the famous St. Viateur bagel place was. It was a pretty stpid questino since the shop was located on a Rue St. Viateur. Duh. After our meal we headed up there to get fresh bagels, for breakfast the next day and to snack on while we were on the bus. By all that, it was only 8PM....so there was a LOT of time left to do other stuff...espeically when I didn't sleep that night! I'll write more later. posted by Ben | | | 9:43 PM Friday, February 11, 2005 The bus for Montreal leaves in 45 mins. I'm pretty hyped up right now. Haven't been to that city in nearly 3 years! I wonder if it has changed much. so much happened this week! I don't have time to write it all out right now. but I'll definitely update (with pictures) when I get back. Peace! posted by Ben | | | 3:43 PM Tuesday, February 08, 2005 OH yeah.... HAPPY NEW YEAR posted by Ben | | | 9:06 PM Maybe I should give some second thoughts to Grad school... Apparently the 4th highest paid profession in the US according to MSN Careers is Electrical engineering. Booya posted by Ben | | | 9:02 PM Sunday, February 06, 2005 I'm sitting here trying to sum up what I did the past week. Shit I can't think of anything! The last 7 days is pretty blurry. Wait a sec..there was a quiz that I had to write and prepare for this lab demo, and presentation. I think that was it. I had no labs, so everything was so chillax. Apparently it's Superbowl Sunday. I don't understand this sport. Please, someone explain why it is so exciting to see a bunch of 200 pound men pulverize each other. No matter, I have orchestra practice in about 2 hours. No football for me tonite! posted by Ben | | | 4:43 PM |
