Thursday, October 27, 2005 Oh blog i'm so sorry that you've been neglected. I haven't been busy. I'm just lazy. At least i'm honest with you HAHAHAHA. Shit some not-so-good news. My supervisor can only fully fund one of us to go to the conference in SD. That sucks. We've been trying to contact the undergrad office etc. to ask for financial assistance, but they've turned us all down. This is stupid, I shouldn't have been so naive. Why would the supervisor pay for the 3 of us to go when only one person is required to present? If we don't get money then I guess I'm not gonna go. End of story. posted by Ben | | | 11:04 AM Monday, October 10, 2005 It's cold and rainy. Don't like it at all! Gotta suck it up and survive the next 6 months. Comeback soon 20+ Celcius weather! This is totally groovy. Mostly true, but that's not the point. Read first and look at pictures! posted by Ben | | | 10:29 AM Thursday, October 06, 2005 The weather's been INCREDIBLE for the past week. 26 degrees EVERYDAY. Too bad it's the last warm day for the year. It'll return to seasonal temps by this evening. It was a great ride while it lasted...really reminded me of my Cali days. posted by Ben | | | 5:26 PM Tuesday, October 04, 2005 It was career information sessions blitz for the last two weeks. I attended the consulting and tech sessions since most of the them hire people with engineering backgrounds. Most of them had incredibally early early application due dates. I applied to one of them. Needless to say, I did not make the next round in the reqruiting process. The letter basically said my background did not fit what they were looking for. I suppose my background too academic, not enough leadership type of work? They *were* hiring only 5 pople for next year, if that's any consolation. I am happy to get a response from them quickly, within a week, which shows that they did go through my app. One thing that bothers me is that, I was competing against undergrads (yeah embarassing but true). Better luck next time, I suppose. On a brighter note, I am now $333.33 richer and got a plaque that says so (well...sort of). Yup, my team and I finally got that prize money for our undergrad project. I was going to use it to get a one of them new snazzy 3G mobile phone. But after some careful consideration, I think I'll use it towards a new harddrive, a dvd burner, and maybe some more RAM for my PC. My trusty Sony Ericsson is still going strong. And besides, it'll probably take at least a year or two before Canada's mobile networks catch up to make current 3G phones worth buying. posted by Ben | | | 10:09 AM |
