Friday, September 02, 2005 I've been reading news reports online about the looting, gun violence and even rapes (!!!) in New Orleans. Ok at first, I was sympathetic. Thousands have lost their homes and their belongings. It'll probably take years to get back to the same way of life as before...if that's even possible. From the pictures I've seen, most are still stuck in waist-high water, which by the way is probably swarming with disease from decomposing bodies, waiting to be rescued. Then you hear about the fools stealing TV's and Electronics. What the hell are you gonna do with those? Watch the latest DVD release of OC wihtout electricity? It's understandable that people may have to resort to stealing food and wather for survival. But I think greed has also taken over and I find that rather upsetting. Aid workers have turned away in fear of being shot at! Rescue work is delayed because the police are being diverted to stop the shottings. Another reason to have tougher gun laws America! My sympathy has turned to disdain. posted by Ben | | | 10:23 AM |
