GOt back from gradball. FIrst off thanks to Jenn for givin' me a ride over. I owe you bigtime. SO it started off with OPEN BAR. Downed like 5 drinks. Hmm...what were they again? here goes:

1. Gin Tonic (pretty standard)
2. Vodka & 7 with cran.
3. Rum Coke
4. Manhatatn (i don't know why but the bartender made me a double)
5. Caesar ... extra hot.

So by dinner time I was pretty wasted. But I kept my cool. Everything seemed really funny for some reason. The dinner appetizer tasted like lawn. Literally. I never really liked field greens. THe entre was a roasted chicken thigh/drumstick in some weak sauce with steamed veggies and roasted potatoes. Chicken was dry and lacked flavour. To top that off, they served merlot. With Chicken? Ok, merlot *is* a dry wine which does somehow compliment the blandness of the chicken...BUT being a redwine with a strong nose...I'd reserve that for something else...like squaw or quail? Don't they say white wines go with white meat? Desert was awesome. they gave me this giant ball of chocolate. It was nothing but bitter sweet ganache with a small cake-like centre. The preserved berries were a nice touch. SO was the fruit sauce ( I think it was some sort of citrus blend? who knows). The school jazz band played a few standards. They were pretty good. I actually know one of he trumpet players there. he plays at my orchestra too. that's so cool. After dinner came the dancing...and boy did I dance. Alcohol serioulsy lessens one's inhibitions. And it was all caught on tape. damn. I finally sobered up after a while because the open bar had been converted to a Cash bar. at $6.50 drink...I think i'll pass. Roomie dropped by to crash the party. It was great to see some familiar faces. All in all, the night was good. but for $75? I'd spend that somewhere else.
