Stupid computers. My ram *DIED* last night. I mean, how can RAM just die?
The horror started when booted up the machine last night. When the OS booted up, the machine froze. The OS froze a couple of times before but it didn't raise any red flags, since I am still using Win98. Anyways, tried to reset the computer and re-boot. After initialization, the motherboard just started BEEPING incessantly. Apparently the ram got screwed somehow. This sucks big time.
Luckily, the IT guy at work was generous enough to give me a DIMM from an old machine that was to be thrown out. I hope it won't die on me again. I really hate to think the motherboard is destroying the memory. IS that possible?!
