Monday, April 19, 2004 I didn't realize this at first, but I think I've gone way over budget on eating out this week. I don't know the exact amount of money I spent, but having to go to the ATM on both Thursday and Saturday (Which is extremely rare for me), and taking out $60 each time is somewhat of an indication. Anyways I had some seriously fun times this weekend. It all started with Kill Bill Vol. 2, on Friday (as if I haven't talked about it enough) and dinner at San Jose's Japan Town. Then followed by a visit to the Intel Museum and Nvidia on Saturday afternoon and Palo Alto Philharmonic concert in the evening, which involved driving to the beautiful town/city of Los Altos (I wanna move there when I retire...Seriously!). To finish off an already action packed weekend, my co-op friends and I visited Monterey Bay Aquarium, Monterey Fisherman's Wharf and Carmel on Sunday. I'll try to post some pics up in the near future. I originally thought that Los Altos was a nice place to live. I think it pales in comparison to Carmel. The whole town of Carmel is so upscale, it's scary. A quick browse through a local real estate office display window shows that the cheapest house in the area sells for just over $990K, while the most expensive one is $5M+. For you Toronto folks this place is a lot like Yorkville, only 10x wealthier and 100x larger, with the Pacific ocean and a white sand beach as its backyard. Well this week is gonna be all dedicated to the Design project. Read through the tutorial on Thursday....gotta give it a try. Started a new book this week as well: the Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. So far so good. I really like this seamless blend of fact and fiction. It's a bit scary for un-educate youths like myself because fantasy can so easily be regarded as fact. It has received a lot of praise from people I know and the press. I finally got my hands on a copy. More good news: Local FTA Multicultural tv station KTSF is gonna start broadcasting J-Drama "GOOD LUCK" which stars the popular Kimura-san from SMAP on May 8! I'm very psyched for the premiere. UNFORTUNATELY, I won't be in Cali to see the whole series. BOOO! posted by Ben | | | 2:01 AM |
