Wednesday, October 01, 2003 So the first rehearsal at SSO just ended. The verdict? I think my expectations of the orchestra were too high. I can tell that the members are very talented musicians, but when it comes to playing as a group, things didn't really turn out that great. At that point O realized that this is another case where the Stanford name scares you into believing they're good. GO STANFORD! there were some pretty cool people at the orchestra. Most of them looks like are either in 1st or second year. (Freshman or Sophomore). Well, atleast that's what I noticed in the Strings section. The bras/winds looked a little older, so I take it that they're grad students or something. I'm definitely gonna skip the Halloween concert and hit up Castro in SF for the street party. That's gonna be too good to miss. I heard from the interns last year that they saw same-sex couples doing the nasty by the windows for everyone to see. I mean if a party gets THAT wild, there's gotta be *some* fun in it right? Now I've to make a "legit" excuse to the conductor to ditch the show. posted by Ben | | | 1:29 AM |
