Funny EETimes article:

Free satellite TV's a hit in a freer Iraq

It looks these guys rather use their money to buy satelite dishes instead of food. LOL

Hair cut from Hell
Okay, so it isn't as bad as it sounds. The lady just made it shorter than I wanted. So I keep telling myself..."It's only hair! It'll grow back". True enough but it'll just take a LONG TIME.

Mars Rover thing
It's pretty incredible to think that I was there *at* Nasa (yeah...I was at Ames, not JPL) last night to watch the second rover land on Mars. The excitement was very contagious. That Asian dude in the American Flag shirt was practically running the show. That was cool. HOWEVER what was he doing with that broom when the Govenor came around to congratulate the team? weird. Lastly, to think that the rover has Actel parts in it is actually a bit scary. HAHA.

So it's that time again. Lunar New Year. Yup just to be politically correct, I've stopped calling it "Chinese New Year" because obviously non-chinese people also celebrate this cultural holiday. i.e. The lovely and talented Koreans.

I hope everyone who reads this blog has a happy and prosperous one be it financially or academically or personally. It seems (for me atleast) that even though the Bay area is full of East Asians who celebrate the Lunar New Year, there really isn't too much hype about it -- atleast not like Christmas. what gives?!

Sometimes I love my job and at other times I hate it. I just happen to hate it, a lot, this week because it seems so unproductive. Wassup with that? I hope things get go a little smoother tomorrow.

Chinese new years is coming up real soon. I think it's this Wednesday. It doesn't feel like it though. There's not enough hype around here. Come to think of it, I'm gonna miss out on the red-envelope $$$$$!!! yikes!

I can't believe I survived two weeks without internet. That's gotta be a record.

Anyways, the most exciting thing that happened was when I flew back home from San Jose. I needed to make a connecting flight in Chicago, but my the flight from SJC was delayed by 30 mins and I only had a 40 min window between flights! TO make a long story short, I made the flight but my checked-in luggage didn't! I sort of expected that to happen, but as soon as I got to the baggage claim area in Pearson they PA'ed me and a few others since they were already notified that my luggage had been "delayed". The airline delivered the luggage all the way to my house later that night. I was pretty impressed by that. All my clothes and gifts for people were in there....I was freaking out earlier because I thought it'd take them weeks to track down my luggage.

In terms of presents I didn't receive anything from anyone other than a car freshener thing from Jen. That was really thoughtful of her since the one I have in my parent's car is practically dead. Thanks Jen! To make myself feel better I went down to Play de Record and bought a stack of vinyl, which I brought back with me. My collection is growing! Maybe I should organize a house party or something before I leave the bay area.

Spent the new years thing at my friend Ian's house in Toronto. He decided to organize a house party and invited way too many people.... One of his friends insisted we all drink prairie fires at midnight. Unbeknownst to him, I chucked mine down the bathroom sink and filled the glass with water. HAHAHA LOSER. I think someone threw up in the bathroom and missed the toilet bowl a bit cuz I able to smell it when I was in there.

Now that I'm back at work, I miss TO even though it's grey, cold and miserable. But that's okay cuz it's home!
